Welcome back!!!  As we begin our second semester of Criminal Justice, I hope that you all had a safe and wonderful holiday break!  Upon return, CJ 3 will begin handwriting analysis, CJ 2 will continue with the chapter, "Emerging Forms of Violence", and CJ 1 will continue with the chapter, "Challenges of Effective Policing".  Once we finish this curriculum, all classes will have a comprehensive semester exam covering all materials from August until now.  Again, this is not considered EOC, but will count as a regular test grade.  However, it allows the student, parent, and instructor an opportunity to understand how much the student has learned about criminal justice during the last semester.  If you are needing additional assistance or help this semester, please do not hesitate to ask.

Congratulations to Tyra Haston for receiving number one on her prison model project.  CJ 2 students conducted the judging and chose Tyra's project as the best overall.  Also, congratulations to the following who were all tied for runner-up: Will Hazen, Caleb Connelly, Piper Higgs, and Hunter Jones.  Great job guys!  You may view their projects on the "Photo Album" site of this web page.

Students and Parents:  Grade verifications for this nine weeks and the first semester are due by 12/19/17.  Any make-up or missed work in C.J. needs to be completed by 12/12/17.

Thirty-two (32) extra credit points have been available to students this nine weeks.  Students may go online to "Ford Driving Skills For Life" and obtain profile points for setting up an account, watching videos, and answering questions.  The following is the break-down of extra credit points:

1-25 Profile Points= 5 Extra Credit (EC) Points

26-50 Profile Points= 7 EC Points

51-75 Profile Points= 9 EC Points

76-100 Profile Points = 11 Points

Students only have to show me their profile points to receive extra credit and may add their points to any test(s) grade they choose.  Students may display their profile points to me in class or "screen shot" them and send them to me by e-mail.

Comprehensive Semester Exams in C.J. will take place after the break in January.  These exams are not considered EOC and they carry no additional weight, compared to other tests.  They are simply counted as a test grade, but cover all material from the beginning of the year through the end of the semester.

Good luck in ALL of your classes and

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
